Green Manufacturing

Product lifecycle is the key to green manufacturing. Green manufacturing is not a catch phrase; it’s a combination of belief, knowledge, and commitment.

A truly sustainable design needs to consider every aspect of product design, materials, packaging and the manufacturing process. Wilson & Gilkes Pty Ltd designs and manufactures, wherever possible, products that can be stripped and disassembled into material groups for ease of recycling.

RoHS Compliant Powder Coatings

RoHS Compliant Powder Coatings

Wilson & Gilkes has an onsite powder coating facility operated by very experienced team members. One of the key advantages powder coating has over other finishing processes is how safe it is for the environment and for the people who work with it. Unlike traditional solvent-based wet paint, powder coating is considered a “green” technology that doesn’t generate harmful solvents or airborne pollutants. Powder Coat contain no harmful volatile organic solvents(VOCs). Powder coat is free of heavy metal pigments such as lead, cadmium, arsenic, chromium (VI) & mercury. A powder coat finish is a consideration for projects where air quality standards have been set, such as 4, 5 & 6 Green Star Rating Projects.
Steel & Metal

Steel & Metal

Wilson & Gilkes works with various raw material in our manufacturing operations. The majority of our output uses steel. Steel is fundamental to the circular economy. Steel is a permanent material, which can be recycled over and over again without losing its properties. Steel products also play an important role in a low carbon economy due to their long life cycle, 100% recyclability, and innovative qualities.

All waste metal at Wilson & Gilkes is sent to certified recyclers.
